The Email That Made Me Cry

Every once in awhile, someone makes the intentional effort to use a few precious minutes of their busy day to make yours. Those moments should never go unnoticed. You should savor them, give thanks, and engrain them into your mind because they are few and far in between but they make all of the difference in the world. I try my hardest to not check email after I close my computer for the night but something inside of me had me check my email in bed the other night and I opened it to find an email from my groom’s mom. Marcy is one of the kindest, most gracious, and beautiful mommas out there!

I had the privilege of spending a few days with their family in sunny Puerto Rico for Jessi and Blake’s destination wedding and felt blessed the entire time to have such an amazing, supportive, and fun family behind my art and in front of my lens. Ever since returning and sharing images and video of their wedding day, there has been an outpouring of support from this amazing family (even grandma sent an email – she’s awesome!) Destination weddings are amazing because you get to experience travel, life, and a wedding while becoming a part of the couple’s family, what a wonderful group to be welcomed into. Marcy, thank you, thank you for your kind words. Today I am wishing you an incredibly beautiful birthday – one to match that smile and spirit of yours!

Marcy,  your email meant the world to me. Thank you for your support, love, and for just being you. Let Marcy be your inspiration for today. Take a few minutes out of your day today and send a kind email – words of inspiration, a thank you note, just a message to say I love you. You may never know how it will impact someone else, it just might make them cry happy tears and trust me, those are the best tears ever shed. Read her email below:

There really are no words to describe how grateful we are for your photography. But really, calling it ‘photography’ simplifies your art and that’s not fair. Your work, your talent, your art…it’s a gift. Each and every picture of Jessi and Blake conveys meaning and emotion. The pictures are absolutely stunning. And I want you to know that I’ve shared the slideshow with a number of people (primarily women!) and all (no exceptions!!) have absolutely raved. I’d love to pick up the phone and call you sometime. In the meantime, I’m sending love and hugs. You are one special woman and we’re so grateful to know you and benefit from your art.
